Artocarpus sarawakensis

Artocarpus sarawakensis is an Artocarpus species that is frequently referred to by the local community as pehengan.

Morphologically, this species bears a close resemblance to terap (Artocarpus odoratissimus), making the two often difficult to distinguish at first glance.

The primary difference lies in the fruit size, where A. sarawakensis generally produces smaller fruits. Nevertheless, its fruit possesses an equally sweet taste, and is even considered by some people to have a superior flavor profile compared to A. odoratissimus.
