Baccaurea angulata
The belimbing darah fruit (Baccaurea angulata), also known as the red angel fruit, is an exotic wild fruit endemic to Borneo that is highly unique due to its striking appearance and angular shape resembling a starfruit, even though it actually belongs to the rambai family (Baccaurea).
This fruit grows clustered directly along the tree trunk (cauliflory), showcasing a blood-red or deep crimson color that is highly contrasting and captivating when ripe.
When its relatively thick rind is opened, you will find several segments of juicy, translucent white flesh with a highly refreshing and sharp sweet-and-sour flavor, making it one of the valuable floral treasures of the Bornean interior
