Baccaurea polyneura
The jentik fruit (Baccaurea polyneura) is a rare wild fruit native to the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia that, at first glance, closely resembles the rambai fruit.
True to its name, its brownish rind is so fragile that it splits open easily with just a gentle "flick" of the fingers.
Beneath the rind lies a juicy, reddish-orange flesh wrapping around the seeds, offering a highly refreshing blend of sour and sweet flavors. Rich in vitamin C and growing in dense clusters on tall trees, the existence of this exotic fruit is unfortunately becoming increasingly rare both in the wild and in markets today
