Dimocarpus longan var. malesianus
The ihau fruit (Dimocarpus longan var. malesianus), popularly nicknamed mata kucing (cat's eye) or lengkeng hutan (wild longan), is a seasonal exotic fruit native to the interior rainforests of Borneo and a close relative of the commercial longan.

Unlike the typical longan, the ihau fruit features a rough outer rind covered in dense, small nodules, with colors varying from green to brownish. The nickname "cat's eye" is given because its crystal-clear, translucent flesh allows the dark seed inside to peek through, resembling a glowing cat's eye when the rind is partially peeled.

Despite having a relatively thin layer of flesh, this wild fruit offers an intensely sweet flavor, is highly juicy, and boasts a much deeper, more fragrant aroma, making it a highly prized local culinary prize that is becoming increasingly rare in the wild today
