Durio dulcis, known as lahung (or lahong), is an endemic durian species of Borneo that is highly iconic due to its vibrant, bright red skin. This exotic fruit is frequently sought after by tourists eager to experience its unique, naturally "menthol" flavor sensation on the palate.

Despite its distinctive taste appeal, lahung has a drawback in its flesh, which tends to be thin, making it less economically viable for large-scale commercial trade. However, natural hybrid varieties resulting from crossbreeding between Durio dulcis and either Durio zibethinus or Durio kutejensis are often found in the wild, holding the potential to yield superior new traits
