Mangifera foetida
The bacang mango (Mangifera foetida), often simply called bacang, is a fruit from the mango family (Anacardiaceae) that is widely renowned for its sharp, piercingly fragrant, and highly distinct aroma when ripe.
The fruit is generally oval-round in shape, featuring a thick, yellowish-green skin that is frequently dotted with natural black spots.
Beneath its skin lies a deep yellow to orange flesh with a coarse, fibrous texture; it is highly juicy and offers a very refreshing sweet-and-sour flavor.
Due to its potent aroma and fibrous texture, bacang is incredibly popular as an ingredient in rujak (traditional fruit salad), iced fruit cocktails, or processed into traditional sambal
