Nephelium cuspidatum
The sibau fruit (frequently referred to as buah sibau or wild rambutan by the Dayak people of Borneo) is an exotic wild fruit that is actually a variety or close relative of the rambutan (Nephelium).
This fruit is characterized by its relatively smaller size and a rind that turns bright yellow to orange-red when ripe, featuring shorter and sparser "hairs" compared to common cultivated rambutans.
Its flesh is translucent white with a chewy texture, offering a refreshingly sweet yet occasionally tangy flavor, and it typically thrives seasonally deep within the rainforests of Borneo
